COVID-19 cases in Nigeria increased by 182 on Thursday bringing the total number of infections in Africa’s most populous country to 8,915.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which confirmed the development on its twitter handle last night, said 2,592 of the patients have, however, recovered while 259 have lost their lives to the disease.
NCDC said Lagos, which has the highest number of infections in the country, recorded 111 new cases while the Federal Capital Territory Abuja recorded 16 new cases.
Others are Akwa Ibom – 10, Oyo – 8, Kaduna – 6, Delta – 6, Rivers – 5, Ogun – 4, Ebonyi – 4, Kano – 3, Plateau – 2, Gombe – 2, Kwara – 2, Kebbi – 1, Bauchi – 1, and Borno – 1.
