The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has issued a warning to the public about unauthorized social media accounts claiming to belong to him.
Mobereola stated on his verified X handle @MobereolaD that these fake accounts are not affiliated with him or NIMASA and advised the public to exercise caution.
The NIMASA DG also disclaimed any responsibility for actions taken by individuals or entities falsely claiming to represent the agency or its executive management. He urged the public to verify claims and report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
Mobereola explicitly disclaimed liability for any losses incurred due to reliance on fraudulent social media accounts, emails, or online publications.
He advised members of the public to only communicate with official NIMASA social media platforms to avoid falling prey to scammers.
