The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has disclaimed media reports (not in SHIPS & PORTS) that it planned to revoke some port concession agreements.
Speaking on a television programme monitored in Lagos weekend, NPA Managing Director, Mohammed Bello-Koko said that contrary to unsubstantiated claims in a section of the media, the agency has no plan to sack any terminal operator from the port.
Bello-Koko said the port concession programme, which brought terminal operators into the port, has improved port operation and contributed to the increase in NPA revenue.
He assured that negotiations were ongoing to renew expired concession agreements.
