Demonstrating his unalloyed commitment to the provision of efficient ports service in a safe, secure and customer-friendly environment, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mallam Habib Abdullahi, recently donated some security devices to the Ports Authority Police Command (PAPC).
These devices include bulletproof vests, helmets, knee and elbow pads, digital search mirrors, tear gas canisters, explosives vapour detectors, handcuffs and walkies-talkies.
Speaking before handing over the equipment to the PAPC’s representative, Assistant Commissioner of Police Salem Amachree, Abdullahi said that the NPA appreciates the efforts of the PAPC at combating security challenges at the nation’s seaports, and, therefore, decided to assist the command with the devices in order to further encourage the operatives to do more.
Abdullahi was represented by the Assistant General Manager, Security, Western Ports, NPA, Mr. Sam Asamage.
Receiving the items, Amachree: “On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. M.D. Abubakar and Ports Authority Police Commissioner, I accept these devices. They will help the Police in their work, as they strive to enhance security violent crimes at the ports will be combated.”
