Executives of the unified 2006/2007 Retirees of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) have dissociated themselves from any impending protest or threat of protest purportedly scheduled by some retired workers of the organisation next Monday.
Chairman of the 2006/2007 Retirees, Mr. Charles Ayo Binitie, told SHIPS & PORTS DAILY that some unknown persons had circulated spurious text messages calling on NPA retired workers to gather at its headquarters on Monday for protest.
“We call on all our members to disregard this call because it did not come from us. We are in talks with the management of NPA to address our concerns and there is no need for protest at this time,” Binitie stated.
