Ooni appoints MWUN chief new Obalufe

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has appointed Comrade Idowu Olaniyi Adediwura as the new Obaalufe of Ile-Ife.

Adediwura, who hails from Ajagbusi Royal House of Orunto in Ile-Ife, replaces the late Oba Folorunso Omisakin who died in October 2015.

The new Obalufe is the Chairman, TICT unit of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria.

Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Comrade Moses Olafare, said in a press release yesterday that the appointment was in line with the customs and traditions of Ile-Ife after consultation with the government, kingmakers other relevant stakeholders.

Adediwura was born in 1967 to the family of Pa Afred Tijuara and Mrs Tayelolu Mariani Adediwura.

He will serve as the Ooni’s deputy.
