Oyo / Osun: Customs rakes in N11 billion in Nine Months

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Oyo/Osun Area Command has generated a whooping sum of eleven billion, one hundred and forty-seven million, two hundred and thirty-eight thousand, four hundred and ninety naira, thirty-two kobo (N11,147,238,490.32) between the months of January and September this year, the Customs Area Controller, Mr. Temitope Ogunkua has disclosed.

He said  this in Ibadan on Tuesday while briefing journalists on the achievements recorded by the Command within the first three quarters of the year.

Temitayo added that  the Command also effected one hundred and eighty-eight assorted seizures with duty paid value of three hundred and sixty-eight million, six hundred and thirty-seven thousand, seven hundred and eighty-eight naira, three kobo (N368,637,788.03).

The Customs Area Controller told newsmen that “the leadership style of the Comptroller General which places emphasis on welfare of officers and hard work has continued to motivate the field operatives to do more.”

He then reiterated the determination of the leadership of the Area Command to continue to deal decisively with the economic saboteurs and work for the security wellbeing of the nation.
