The Peruvian Navy said it found and seized 25 kilograms of cocaine on board a Singapore –flagged containership owned by German shipping company Hamburg Süd, last weekend.
The drug was discovered by the authorities on board the ship named “San Clemente” during an inspection in the Port of Callao, Peru.
According to the Peruvian Navy, the inspection was conducted on December 15, while the ship was moored at the DP World Callao terminal.
The ship was underway from the port of Buenaventura, Colombia, bound for Puerto Angamos, Chile.
The 9,000 TEU Post Panamax was built in 2014.
