The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Thursday confirmed that the rail tracks for the Kaduna-Abuja train services were in the evening of Wednesday blown up with explosives planted on the tracks by yet to be identified persons. This is even as the corporation said efforts are ongoing to restore the train services along the route.
NRC Managing Director, Engr. Fidet Okhiria, told journalists on Thursday that the explosives damaged the rail track around Dutse and Rijana.
He said the explosives, which damaged the rail track, were detonated “somewhere around Rijana and Dutse last night”.
He said efforts are ongoing to restore train service along the track.
He denied that shots were fired at the train.
