A 29-year-old man, identified as Chukwuemeka Maduabuchi, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing phones belonging to truck drivers at Kirikiri, Lagos.
Maduabuchi is facing a two-count charge bordering on stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ejembi told the court that the defendant committed the offences on February 23, 2019 at Camp site, Kirikiri, Apapa.
“The defendant stole one Itel handset valued at N3,000 property of one Abdulkadri Abubakar and also stole one Tecno T484 phone valued at N3,500 property of one Wahab Tijani,” Ejembi said.
According to him, the offences are both punishable under sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him.
Magistrate O.M Ajayi ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison until March 4, 2019 for facts and sentence.
