Police arraign two teenagers for stealing motorcycle in Apapa

Two teenagers, Sunday Nwogwu (18) and Chinemere Odirioha (18), were on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one Bajaj motorcycle in Apapa.

Nwogwu and Odirioha are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The police prosecutor, Superintendent Gabriel Ekundayo told the court that the defendants committed the offences on April 15, 2019 at about 11pm at Okito Street, Ajegunle, Apapa.

He said the stolen motorcycle, valued at N130,000, belongs to one Aminu Mohammed.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Chief Magistrate Mukaila Fadeyi granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum. The surety is required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till June 4, 2019 for mention.
