Police docks man for felony at Kirikiri

A 30-year-old man, identified as Nnamdi Dillibe, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly attempting to vandalize a Mack truck at the Kirikiri area of Lagos State.

Dillibe is facing a one-count charge of felony.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Kolade Tedunjaye told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 6, 2019 at about 9:40pm at Happy Home Avenue, Kirikiri.

“The defendant attempted to commit felony by losing the shaft of a Mack truck with registration number LST 523 XC with intent to stealing it, property of one Okeke Tempo,” Tedunjaye said.

According to her, the offence is punishable under section 406 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.

Magistrate B.M Amore granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.

The sureties, according to the Magistrate must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till April 1, 2019 for mention.
