Port security officer pleads guilty to stealing at PTML

A 21-year-old security officer, Sunday Adah, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing imported goods worth N200,000 at PTML terminal, Tin Can Island Port Complex, Lagos.

Adah, a Sovereign Guard security personnel, is facing one-count charge of stealing.

The port prosecutor, Sergeant Adeniyi Balogun told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 3, 2018 at about 3pm at the terminal.

“The accused stole 117 different denominations of American coins, one Lexus sensor key, four ball pens and one motor vehicle sensor all valued at N200,000 property of an unknown importer at PTML/Grimaldi Terminal,” Balogun said.

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
Adah pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

The Magistrate, Mukaila Fadeyi, adjourned the case till July 9, 2018 for facts and sentence.
