The alliance entered into by the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) and Redeemer’s university over training of members of the association has materialized as the University will start training the members of the association from August.
This was disclosed by the National Publicity Secretary of the Association, Kayode Farinto in his office on Friday.
He said the Association had taken the training of its members so seriously that it partnered with the foremost maritime university for the training of its members.
He said building capacity for its members is part of the cardinal point of the Prince Olayiwola Shittu administration and it is ready to pursue it will vigour.
“We have been training our members all around the world and we will continue to do that. Just recently, we reached a deal with Redeemers’ University on training for our members and we will not stop at that.
“The university will be using our secretariat as their study centre. That means the institution recognized ANLCA as an association that is interested in training and building capacity for its members.”
Farinto also disclosed that the association just finished training some sets of people in the association and would embark on training others sent from the Eastern Ports soon.
“Less than a month ago, we finished a programme on the training of our members. Very soon our members at the Eastern Ports will be going through training and this will be in collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service.
“To let you know that ANLCA does not joke with training and capacity building of its members, in two weeks time, we will be going for FIATA training in United States.”
He however denied insinuations from some quarters that his association was starting late in partnering with Redeemers’ University saying it was a wrong insinuation.
“I can tell you that ANLCA has achieved a lot in terms of training its members but has kept it to itself.”
