In the spirit of the new found love between it and the freight forwarders’ regulatory body, the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN); the leadership of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has charged its members to ensure that they obtain their CRFFN identification cards as soon as possible.
A statement signed by ANLCA National Publicity Secretary, Dr Obicee Okonkwo, urged members of the association to comply with the directives of CRFFN that all freight forwarders practicing in Nigeria must be properly registered and identified with the regulatory body, or risk being arrested by its enforcement officers.
“Be informed that CRFFN identity cards are ready for collection at their office in Apapa. ANLCA members registered with CRFFN should pick up their ID cards to avoid arrest by CRFFN enforcement unit presently operating in all the ports and border stations in Nigeria. Be compliant please”, the statement noted.
An official visit by CRFFN’s Director, Regulation and Enforcement Department, Basil Oparah, and his team to the ANLCA National Secretariat yesterday further substantiates that the Council’s enforcement program has the full support of the association.
Other port stakeholders such as the Shipping Association of Nigeria (SAN), Nigeria Shippers’ Council (NSC) and the Port Authority Police Command (PAPC) have also assured CRFFN of their support to rid the nation’s ports of quacks.
