The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has lost his older brother, Charles, popularly known as Dede.
President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement on Saturday, commiserated with the Minister.
The President, in the condolence message signed issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, said, “In this moment of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the Amaechi family and people of Rivers State.
Buhari urged the Amaechi, who is a two-time Director-General of his election campaigns, to find strength in the notable legacies of his late brother.
Also, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has commiserated with the Minister over the death.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike described Dede’s demise as “a great loss not only to the family but the entire state”.
He prayed God to grant the Minister and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Amaechi family is yet to issue a statement on the deceased or his burial arrangements.
