Senators commend NPA on revenue generation

The Chairman of Senate Committee on Marine Transport, Senator Ahmed Yerima has commended the management of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for improved revenue generation.

Speaking during the committee’s visit to NPA headquarters on Monday, Yerima said the committee actually came to acquaint itself with the current workings of the organisation.

He also reiterated that the current administration is very serious about its fight against corruption and that it is indeed time for change.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Managing Director of NPA Mallam Habib Abdullahi had told the distinguished Senators that NPA had embarked upon blockage of most revenue leakages since three years ago and it is still working tirelessly to achieve zero tolerance for revenue leakages.

As a result, rather than loose funds, NPA has recorded increase in revenue generation.

Mallam Abdullahi also added that NPA had embarked on lots of projects to improve the service delivery of the organisation and that the company has a resounding success in all its projects thus far.

In the company of Senator Ahmed Yerima is Sen. Ahmed Sanni Uman, Sen. Isiaka Adeleke, Sen. Salami Phiare, Sen. Theodore Orji, Sen. Clifford Ordia, Sen. Kabiru Gaya, Sen. Adeola Olamilekan and Sen. Emmanuel Paulka while with the Managing Director are the Executive Directors of Marine and Operations Engr. David Omonibeke, Finance and Administration Mr Olamide Oduntan and Engineering, Technical Services, Engr. Mohammed Saleh and some General Managers.
