Shanghai port container volumes rise 5.1% in July  

The Chinese port of Shanghai has moved higher container volumes in July, according to figures from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).

The world’s busiest container port handled a throughput of 3.27m teu in July, gaining 5.1% compared to 3.12m teu registered in the same period of 2015, SIPG data showed.

Box volumes recorded last month also increased by 4.1% from 3.14m teu posted in June this year.

From January to July 2016, Shanghai port moved a total throughput of 21.16m teu, stable compared to 21.14m teu seen in the previous corresponding period.
