Sifax boss, Afolabi emerges Evergreen Maritime Man of the Year
- Ships & Ports retains Best Maritime Media Company award
The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of Sifax Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi has been announced as winner of the National Evergreen Merit Awards Maritime Man of the Year for 2013.
A statement signed by Award Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. Collins Abba stated that Dr. Afolabi emerged the winner after an extensive survey and painstaking selection process among 12 shortlisted prominent stakeholders.
According to the statement, an unbiased field research conducted gave the prestigious award to the Sifax Group boss while Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Mr. Patrick Akpobolokemi, won the maritime industry CEO of the Year award through the same process.
“Akpobolokemi emerged the winner among five shortlisted CEO’s in the industry,” Abba stated.
Nigeria’s leading maritime media firm, Ships & Ports Communication Company, publishers of SHIPS & PORTS DAILY newspaper, Ships & Ports Radio and Ships & Ports Online have also won the award of the Best Maritime Media Company for the fourth time in a row.
The organisers said other winners will be announced later while presentation of the awards will hold on March 27 at Etal Hotels and Hall, Apapa, Lagos.
