The management of Sifax Group has promised to offer employment to a number of the members of its football team who are unemployed and willing to work with the company.
The offer came on the heels of the team’s carting away of the bronze medal at the just-concluded 6th of the Maritime Cup competition.
The Executive Director(ED), Administration and Human Resources of the group, Dr Phil Ofulue, made the pledge while hosting the team members at its corporate headquarters in Lagos.
The ED said: “We want you to see yourselves as part of the company and we are assuring you that when there is vacancy, we will see how we can integrate some of you into the system. See yourself as a Sifax ambassador and be a good one indeed.
Ofulue, also informed the players that the organisation was not through with their service as it was prepared to keep them together for the next competition next year.
“We don’t want anyone of you to be poached by NAGAFF or any other competitor. We will have our eyes on you, so that four or five months to the next competition, we will all come together to prepare for the next edition of the competition.”
Ofulue, commended the bronze- winning team for their discipline and levelheadedness that won them the fair play award.
“When you were in camp, we never got a bad report of stubbornness from any of the players, that is why we are all not surprised about your achievement in that little time that you were assembled.
“The only team that defeated us was the team that eventually won the competition. That was to show your level of commitment and we salute your discipline, your levelheadedness. Also to us, the bronze you won is as good as the trophy itself because we believe that you will do better next year.”
Also congratulating members of the team, the Senior Special Adviser to the Group Executive Vice- Chairman, Barr. Ezekiel Ajewole, applauded the team for defeating the Customs’ football team, the defending champions of the competition.
“I’m proud of you, Sifax Group is proud of you and we believed that if you can continue with the attitude you displayed while with the team, the sky will be your starting point and Sifax is ready to help you progress, “he said.
Responding to the praise given to the victorious team, the team coach,Yemi, thanked the management of the group for its unflinching support during the competition.
“I am overwhelmed with this kind reception given to us after winning the bronze medal. We were surprised that we could be hosted in a big way like this. Many thanks to the team manager, Oliver Omojuwa, and the technical manager of the team, Henry Ajoh.”
