Sifax Group showers cash, gift on long serving staff

The management of Sifax Group yesterday again honoured six of its staff with long service awards for their contributions to the development of the company over the past ten years.

The company gave out certificates, cash and refridgerators to the award recipients.

Speaking at the award ceremony yesterday, the group Executive Vice Chairman of the indigenous company, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi congratulated the six members of staff for their committment and dedication to service.

Afolabi, who was represented by his Special Adviser, Barr. Ezekeil Ajewole, said: “I want to congratulate you on your long service award. You have started well, we want you to continue and at the same time end well.

“People have worked with Sifax and left but you all were able to spend a decade and some more with us so, you really deserve to be celebrated.”

The Sifax Group boss also enjoined other workers who have not served for up to the ten years to emulate the good work of the award recipients.

“For other staff, I charge you to emulate these staff, continue being loyal to the company, and also ensure that the company move to the level.”

Speaking earlier, the Executive Director, Administration and Human Resources, Dr. Phil Ofulue, said the award was instituted to celebrate staff for the distance covered.

“This event is an occasion to celebrate with our colleagues who despite challenging situations have weathered the storm to do 10, 15 years and more with the company. They deserved to be celebrated and that is why we are here,” he said.

Ofulue also stated that the Group has paid compensation to the family of a staff who died on duty, adding that the Group will be rewarding outstanding staff in all departments at the end of every year.

Responding on behalf of the award recipients, Mr. Obadare Abayomi and Miss Blessing Thompson thanked the company or recognising them.

Abayomi said the award would gear them to contribute more to the development of the organisation.

The six award recipients were Blessing Thompson; Abayomi Obadare; Ilesanmi Ayorinde; Olaoluwa Ayodele; Iskilu Samuel and Adesokan Rasaq.

Five of award recipients have worked with the comany for 10 years while Ilesanmi Ayorinde had served for 15 years.

Last year, the company honoured five of its workers with the long service award.

Those who bagged the award last year include the Head, Billing Department of Sifax Offdock, Evelyn Ogom Elue; an Office Assistant, Gladys Onuoha; a dispatch rider, Solomon Fatoyinbo; a driver, Tajudeen Yisua; and an Operations Manager, Olanrewaju Agbabiaka.
