Three men, namely Salami Innocent Abiodun (28), Emeka Nwankwo (25) and Mona John (27) were on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing phones and using the sim cards to transfer money from the bank accounts of two oil workers, Olukorede Olatunde and Aramide Akindele Oyewunmi.
The three men are facing a two-count charge bothering on conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvelous Ogbona told the court that the defendants committed the offence on December 30, 2017 at about 9:30am at Dockyard Road and on March 15, 2018 at about 10am.
“The defendants stole Nokia 3310 phone valued N7,000 and used the sim card number (08034557316) to transfer the sum of N600,000 from Fidelity Bank property of Olukorede Olatunde.”
Ogbona also said that the defendant stole Tecno phone valued N35,000 with sim card number (08038021152) to transfer N200,000 from UBA property of Aramide Akindele Oyewunmi.
According to him, the offences contravened Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

The Magistrate, A.S Okubule granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government and their residence must be verified.
