Yerima Umar, younger brother to the Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar is dead.
He died on Thursday last week at about 7pm in the Minister’s office in Abuja.
The late Yerima, who was said to be asthmatic, worked closely with his elder brother as one of his assistants.
Usually reliable sources informed SHIPS & PORTS DAILY that the deceased suffered asthamic attack and gave up the ghost before medical help could reach him.
When contacted, Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Mrs. Yetunde Sonaike, confirmed the incidence. She described Yermina’s death as shocking and unfortunate.
Idris Umar was appointed Minister of Transport in July 2011.
