A 20-year-old man, Emeka Anumunu, who allegedly stole N6m customised car brain boxes, was on Friday brought before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused is being prosecuted for a two-count of conspiracy and stealing.
Charged alongside Anumunu is Osita Eze who is facing trial for receiving stolen items.
The accused pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charges brought against them.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that Anumunu committed the offences on September 6 at 10.00 a.m. at Iponri, on Funsho Williams Avenue, Lagos.
He said the accused stole five customised car brain boxes valued at N6m, property of Chisco Transport Company.
The offences contravened Sections 287, 328 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Oluyemisi Adelaja, admitted the accused to a bail of N500,000 each with two responsible sureties each in like sum.
She said the sureties must show proof of tax payment for the last three years.
Adelaja later adjourned the case to October 16 for hearing.
