Goodluck Onuaji and George Okafor, both members of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) are laying claim to the seat of chairman, PTML chapter of the association.
Onuaji is the elected chairman of the chapter but Okafor claims a vote of no confidence has been passed on Onuaji and has ceased to hold the office.
Okafor attributed alleged high-handedness, incompetence and corruption among other reasons behind Onuaji’s purpoted removal.
He said, “Onuaji has long been removed as the Chairman of the association. He run the association as if he is a sole administrator and we find this uncalled for so the executive passed a vote of no confidence on him.
“Petition has been sent to the national leadership of NAGAFF and we have showed our reason so he stopped being the Chairman.
However, when contacted, Onuaji said he had nothing to say about his purported impeachment because the national leadership recently set up a panel to look into the allegations levelled against him.
“A panel on the issue has sat and their findings will be made public next week. They have gone to where they said I collected money and some other things so we shall soon know the real chairman,” he said.
SHIPS & PORTS DAILY gathered that Okafor was the vice chairman of the chapter before the alleged impeachment consequent upon which he assumed the position of acting chairman. Okafor is said to enjoy the support of other executive members of the chapter.
