Use arms training to enhance career, FOC charges navy personnel

Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Central Naval Command, Yenagoa, Rear Adm. Apochi Suleiman, has urged officers and men of the navy to take training seriously for enhancement of their career growth.

Suleiman made the call on Friday at Elele, Rivers, at the end of the command`s annual small arms firing training.

He said that the exercise was important to improve shooting skills of the personnel.

According to him, it will enhance the ability of naval personnel to handle small arms and use it effectively when necessary.

“Small arms firing is an annual exercise done to test the ability of officers in handling weapons,” he said.

“If you handle the rifle, you will know your fault and it will also assist you to know if you are capable of handling it or not,” he added.

The FOC advised participants to take lessons from the training, saying that it would help them in fighting crime in the area.
