WILAT Nigeria elects new executives, holds conference Thursday

Hajia Aisha Ali-Ibrahim has been re-elected Chairperson of the Nigerian chapter of Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT). She was returned unopposed.

Ali-Ibrahim, who is the founder and global convener of WILAT will be assisted by Ogochukwu Ugboma – a Geography/Planning lecturer at Lagos State University (LASU) who emerged as Vice Chairperson and Mrs. Juliana Saka, a staff of Nigerian Shippers’ Council who emerged as Secretary-General of the association.

Other elected officials include Callista Odiegwu, Assistant Secretary; Rejoice Ndudinachi of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Financial Secretary, Mrs. Josephine Andy of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Treasurer; and Col. Flora Pearse of the Nigerian Army, Provost.

Meanwhile, the association said it is set to hold its 2nd WILAT Day Conference in Lagos this week.

Ali-Ibrahim said the 2nd WILAT Day will hold on Thursday 26th June, 2014 at Rockview Hotel, Apapa.

She said former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), and Secretary-General of the Abuja MoU on Ports State Control, Mrs. Mfon Usoro, is the keynote speaker at the event while Dr. Dorothy Chan, International President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is expected as the Guest of Honour
