Grimaldi ship on fire off Togo

The 1992-built container and RORO (ConRo) vessel, M/V Repubblica di Roma, owned by the Grimaldi Group caught fire last week and its current status is unknown.

Images showed smoke billowing from the ship’s superstructure.

All crew are safely ashore according to our source.

The ship is currently offshore Togo in the Gulf of Guinea and has a cargo capacity of 2,200 cars and 890 TEU.
