Lufhthansa and the pilots union Vereinigung Cockpit have reached an agreement regarding all previously unresolved collective bargaining matters after talks last night.
In a declaration of intent, the negotiating partners agreed on provisions for transitional payments, pension plans, the framework agreement on employment conditions and the collective wage agreement for the pilots of Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo and Germanwings.
This was contained in a statement made available in Lagos on Wednesday.
The recommendation developed in February by mediator, Gunter Pleuger, for the collective wage agreement formed one part of the considerations.
The statement explained that the new agreement has made a formal acceptance of the arbitration recommendations unnecessary.
“Likewise, Lufthansa will not be pursuing a previously announced plan to staff 40 newly acquired aircraft outside the group-wide collective bargaining agreement (KTV),” it said.
Over the next months, the details of the various collective bargaining agreements will have to be worked out.
