Two truck assistants also known as motor boys were arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for allegedly stealing one heavy duty battery belonging to one Anas Sanni.
The truck assistants identified as Muazu Adamu (20) and Suraju Abdulmumini, (35) pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge brought against them.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu told the court that the two defendants committed the offence on July 13, 2017 at about 3:20pm under the Ijora Badia bridge in Lagos.
He said the motor boys stole the heavy duty battery valued at N60,000.
According to him, the offence contravenes sections 411 and 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr Temitope, Babalola granted the defendants bail in the sum of N25,000 with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case till September 20, 2017 for mention.
