A 20-year-old man, identified as Oumbuneme Ihejirika, was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one fairly used motorcycle.
Ihejirika is facing a one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Ferdinard Asu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 17, 2019 at about 4:30am at No 50, Tunner Street, Amukoko.
“The defendant stole one fairly used Jagua motorcycle with registration number EKY 936 QB red in colour valued at N50,000 only property of one Saheed Yusuf,” Asu said.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
Magistrate M.O Olubi granted him N50,000 bail with two sureties each in like sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till September 25, 2019 for mention.
