No fewer than 34 vessels were burned in a major fire at Muara Baru Port in Penjaringan, Indonesia on Saturday.

There were no fatalities caused by the fire. However, three people were injured and taken to a local hospital, officials of a regional fire and rescue agency, DPKP DKI Jakarta, said. 

160 firefighters, 23 fire trucks and three fireboat units were deployed by the authorities to battle the inferno, which was eventually extinguished by 6:00 a.m. local time on Sunday. 

The massive fire reportedly started onboard a fishing vessel during welding operations and quickly spread to other vessels anchored at the port.

DPKP DKI Jakarta said it had commenced further of the inferno.
