Sifax boss, Taiwo Afolabi elected ANLCA board chairman

The Chairman of SIFAX Group and proprietor of Marriot Hotel Lagos, Dr Taiwo Afolabi has been elected the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA). 

Afolabi was chose by his fellow BoT members in a recent event at the Marriot Hotel Lagos.

He will be assisted for the six years of his tenure by Prince Ozo Chukwura, a frontline chieftain of the association. Also elected as the secretary of the Board is Kingsly Obi, a chieftain of the association from the Eastern zone.

This came as the National Executive Council (NEC), the highest decision making organ of ANLCA has announced the expulsion of eight members and their companies from the association over alleged anti-association activities. Foremost among the expelled members are a former president of ANLCA, Ernest Elochukwu and his company, Nestelo Global Limited; a former secretary of the Board, Tai Oyeniyi and his company Mac-Mary Nigeria Limited. and a former Coordinator of the Western Zone, John,Oforbike and his company, Salim International Nigeria Limited.

Others expelled members of the association were Temitope Akinyele and his company Green Star Nigeria Limited; Adamazu Joe Sanni and his company, Multimodal Logistics Ltd; Taiwo Mustapha and his company, Pyramid Nigeria Limited; Bayo Oyekangun and his company, Bay-Lee Agencies Limited. 

Meanwhile, the newly inaugurated has said that it would “hit the ground running” to stabilize the association.
