The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a 40-foot container laden with expired disposable vape products valued at ₦809.7 million.
The command’s acting Customs Area Controller, Bolaji Adigun, said officers uncovered 18 pallets containing 484 cartons of disposable vape products, totalling 182,340 pieces, during a physical examination of the container.
He said the products, which bore expiry dates ranging from 2022 to 2026, were unfit for human consumption and posed serious public health risks.
According to Adigun, the seized consignment has a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦809.7 million and will be handed over to the appropriate government agency for regulatory action and safe disposal.
Adigun disclosed that the Command also generated ₦19.404 billion in revenue in June 2026, representing a 35 per cent increase from the ₦14.363 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
