Danish shipping company Maersk Line and UK-based maritime services provider Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) plan to expand their Papa New Guinea coverage by adding two new ports of call, starting from March 2017.
In addition to the existing ports, Port Moresby and Lae, the duo will add direct calls to the ports of Madang and Wewak.
“Our vessels will call Port Moresby-Lae-Madang-Wewak on each voyage through Papua New Guinea,” the firms said.
Additionally, Maersk Line and ISS said that Rabaul and Kimbe will continue to be serviced with domestic coastal relay from Lae.
More details about the enhanced service will be provided closer to the launch date in March, the two companies added.
