Security officer, waiter steal $400 in Apapa

The police on Thursday arraigned a security officer and waiter before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing $400 belonging to a customer at Domino’s Pizza, Apapa.

The security officer, Paul Uket (42) and waiter, Vincent Itodo (25) are facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Adeniyi Balogun told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Monday April 1, 2019 at Domino’s Pizza along Calcutta Road, Apapa.

“The defendants conspired together to steal the sum of $400 property of one Salisu Mohammed,” Balogun said.

He said the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Magistrate T.R Oladele granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The sureties are asked to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the case till April 26, 2019 for mention.
