An Apapa Magistrate’s Court on Friday remanded a 21-year-old man, Lateef Kolawole, for robbing a woman of her iPhone, iPad and other personal effects with dangerous weapon.
Kolawole is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery.
The prosecutor, Inspector Marvellous Obongha, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on February 24, 2020 at about 6 a.m. at Aliwo Junction, Amukoko.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to arm himself with cutlasses and used violence to rob one Odunayo Jegede Titilayo of her bag containing one Ipad valued at N150,000, one Iphone 6 phone valued at N65,000, one Itel phone with valued at N4,500 and a physical cash of N3,000. Total value N222,500 property of one Odunnayo Jegede Titilayo,” Obongha said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 297 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Magistrate T.R. Oladele rejected the not-guilty plea by the defendant and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending advice by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
She adjourned the case till March 10, 2020 for mention.
