Man pleads guilty to attempted stealing

A 28-year-old man, Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, on Friday pleaded guilty before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court to a one-count charge of attempting to steal the door chrome of one Toyota Padro Jeep. 

The prosecutor, Inspector Marvellous Obongha, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on February 23, 2020 at about 11am at Plot 10, 1st Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos.

“The defendant attempted to steal the door chrome of one Toyota Padro Jeep,” Obongha said. 

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 206 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Upon the guilty plea by the defendant, Magistrate Aisha Shittabey adjourned the matter till March 3, 2020 for facts and sentence.
