Customs generates N86bn in one month in Apapa

The Apapa Area Command, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has raked in N264.5 billion in the first quarter of 2022.

This was made known by the Command’s Area Controller, Comptroller Yusuf Malanta in a press briefing on Thursday.

Malanta noted that the 2022 Q1 revenue was 65% higher than the amount realised by the command in the corresponding period of 2021.

He attributed the increased revenue to the impact of the deployment of information technology “as well as sustaining the level of compliance by the importers/stakeholders in the clearance value chain.”
