Buhari: Lagos train/bus accident extremely sad, distressing 

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the train accident involving a staff bus and a train which claimed six lives in Lagos on Thursday morning as distressing and extremely sad.

The President said this while expressing sympathy over the accident at Shogunle area of Ikeja, Lagos.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari said, “The accident at the level crossing involving the train and the BRT staff bus is distressing and extremely sad. I pray for the souls of the deceased and quick recovery of the many who were injured.”

The president commended the Lagos State authorities and Federal Government agencies for promptly getting involved in relief work.

A train and a bus conveying workers to their work places in Lagos collided on Thursday morning, killing six people and leaving many injured.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared three days mourning for those that died in the accident.
