Calabar Port Manager Calls for Urgent Repairs to Access Road

The Port Manager of Calabar Port, Cross River State, Ekine Ibiri Alex, has expressed concern over the poor condition of the road connecting the port, stating that the Calabar-Itu highway’s deteriorating state is hindering optimal port operations.

During a collaborative meeting with Cross River State’s Commissioner for Commerce, Abigail Duke Orok, Alex highlighted the critical role of Calabar Port as a key evacuation route for Nigeria’s Eastern and Northern regions.

He urged the relevant authorities to take swift action to improve the port’s efficiency.

To address the challenges, he proposed a larger meeting with stakeholders from relevant sectors to develop a comprehensive plan for enhancing port operations.

He emphasized that with proper collaboration and government support, the Calabar Port could play a significant role in boosting economic activities in Cross River State and beyond.

In her response, Orok underscored the importance of working closely with the Port Authority to resolve the challenges that have hampered shipping activities at the Calabar Port.
