Cargo ship catches fire in Denmark

Fire broke out in the cargo hold of general cargo ship named Ann Rousing while loading scrap items in Amager, Copenhagen, Denmark, last Friday.

According to local reports, firefighters managed to control the fire, but had to take extra care not to dump too much water into the ship, fearing stability loss.

The ship was surrounded by floating booms, and no leaks had been detected at the time.

The general cargo ship Ann Rousing was built in 1991. She is sailing under the Danish flag and is managed by Danish company Maritim Supply ApS.
