The seaports in Saudi Arabia handled more than 22 million tons of cargo and 1,010 ships in March 2019, according to local media.
The ports saw an increase of 2.78% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the Saudi Press agency reported.
The number of handling containers reached 550,000, marking an increase of 8.72% in the same of 2018, according to the statistical index issued by the Saudi Ports Authority, MAWANI.
The ports also handled 111,000 passengers; 56,000 vehicles and 705,000 livestock heads.
