Iron ore exports from Australia’s Port Hedland, the world’s biggest iron ore port to China, jumped 14 percent in December from a month earlier, Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) said on Thursday.

According to PPA, shipments of the commodity totalled 37.4 million tonnes in December, compared with 32.9 million tonnes recorded in November.

Port Hedland is used by three of Australia’s top four iron ore miners, BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Gina Rinehart’s Hancock Prospecting.
