Ghana and Ivory Coast will jointly decide on the volume and timing of cocoa exports by August for the 2019/20 season. This is in an effort to increase producer profits, the head of Ghana’s Cocobod said on Wednesday.
The world’s top two producers have also agreed to harmonize the forward sales of cocoa export contracts, Joseph Boahen Aidoo told reporters.
Separately, Ghana will uproot 400,000 hectares of cocoa infected by swollen shoot disease, Cocobod and its Ivorian counterpart, Coffee and Cocoa Council, said in a statement.
