The Katsina/Kaduna Customs command is presently prosecuting six persons for various smuggling offences just as it has apprehended a trailer load of 200 bales of second hand-bags worth N8,050,000.
Controller of the command, Comptroller, Olusemire Kayode said the seizure was made during the Christmas period after a period of 3 weeks of intensive monitoring and surveillance.
According to him, other seizures during the period include one Peugeot J5 bus loaded with 90 kegs of 25 litres of vegetable oil and another Peugeot J5 loaded with 410 bags of mosquito coils.
“Recently we uncovered new routes from intelligence and are working to close them as well, smugglers are very smart but we are smarter,” he said.
