Dangote workers arraigned for stealing trailer load of wheat

The Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos yesterday began the cross examination of Dangote workers over the alleged stealing of one trailer load of Canadian wheat valued N2.2 million.

The workers are John Bello (34), Olusa Bamidele (32), Ilumoka Johnson (36), Ogbe John (29) and Ibikume Mayowa Adebayo (33). They all pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen told the court that the defendants committed the offence on November 23, 2016 at Dangote Pasta and Noodle Plc, Ikorodu.

According to him, the offences contravened sections 409 and 285 (1) criminal laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The Magistrate, Mr. T.A Babalola adjourned the case till April 19 for continuation of trial.
