Customs collects N213bn at PTML in 11 months

The Port Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service said it collected the sum of N213.4 billion at the command from January to November 2022.

Speaking during the weekend in Lagos, the Customs Area Controller of the PTML Command, Suleiman Bomai, said the amount is 4% higher than the N205.16 billion collected in the corresponding period of 2021.

He said importers and agents can now transact with the command without necessarily visiting the port.

“Today, from the comfort of your house, you can pay your duty, do your assessment at the clearing zone and other procedures, and all that will be left is the examination and picking your vehicle, and once it is standard, you have no issues. The only issues we usually have are from the non-standard aspect where the management is trying to automate, and once that is done, we are good to go,” he said.
