Good worth N235.634 million have been seized by the operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service (Zone C) in Edo and Delta States.
The zone comprises all the eleven states in the South-South and South-East geo-political zones.
The seized goods include 7,640 bags of rice, 31 automobiles of different brands and four cartons of drugs.
Controller, Federal Operations Unit of the zone, Victor Dimka, who disclosed this in Benin, the Edo State capital on Monday while conducting newsmen round the seized goods, put the cost of the seized bags of rice at N160.44 million and vehicles at N75.194 million.
He identified the seized drugs as Tramadol capsules of 100 miligrams, noting that each carton contained 300 packs.
Dimka disclosed that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the illegal deal, and would be charged to court after investigation.
He said the goods were seized between Benin-Ore, Auchi-Uromi and Agbor-Asaba axis of Edo and Delta States.
