Customs promotes 1,924 junior officers

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has approved the promotion of 1,924 personnel of its junior cadre.

A statement by Customs Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah, on Friday, said the promotion takes effect from 1st January, 2018.

The breakdown of the promotion include Assistant Inspector of Customs (AIC) – Inspector of Customs (IC), General Duty – 51; Assistant Inspector of Customs (AIC) – Inspector of Customs (IC), Support Staff – 48; Customs Assistant Grade II (CAII) – Customs Assistant Grade I (CAI), Support Staff – 200 and Customs Assistant Grade III (CAIII) – Customs Assistant Grade II (CAII), Support Staff – 39.

Others are Customs Assistant Grade I (CAI) – Assistant Inspector of Customs (AIC), Support Staff – 169; Customs Assistant Grade I (CAI) – Assistant Inspector of Customs (AIC), General Duty – 1200; Customs Assistant Grade II (CAII) – Customs Assistant Grade I (CAI), General Duty – 179 and Customs Assistant Grade III (CAIII) – Customs Assistant Grade II (CAII), General Duty – 38.

While giving approval for the promotion, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali congratulated the promoted personnel and charged them to see their promotion as a call to greater service to fatherland.

He said at this time when the nation expects more from non-oil revenue sources and improved security situation, operatives must totally commit to the course of nation building.
